The author is Peter Cameron who has sritten several other novels including "Weekend" and "Andorra". He has also written for "The New Yorker".
During the reading, I kept wondering when it was going to become meaningful. It was only at the end that I understood that the story was like an onion that you had to peel back slowly. Was it the best novel I ever read? No, but it was serene and an easy read. Afterwards, I watched the move which closely followed the book.
A great story told in a riveting fashion. There is a movie with the same title which turned me on to the book. As those who are readers are aware the book is in more depth and fun. It is the only book I have ever read about Kansas and Uruguay. It is full of things that quite catch one off guard. I am looking forward to reading more of Cameron's work. I really love this novel.
