The first book in the series has appeared on my Kindle list but I am unfamiliar with it.  Has anyone read any of these books?  The first book is Blood Country (published in 1999) and there are eight books in the series right now.

I know I started it...but it's not showing up when I search through my book blog so I'm thinking it was one I read a couple of chapters of and wasn't interested in continuing when I was first starting to cull my TBR shelf so I didn't record it formally as a DNF. But hey--I think it's best to try new stuff, everyone's taste is different. Someone must have liked them if there are eight books. :)

I've read the first 6 - Maiden Rock is the last one I read, and I counted it in the "Native Son/Daughter" category for the 2011 challenge. They are what my dear spouse terms "adequate entertainment." Not too gory, not too violent, somewhat rural setting, pleasant but kind of forgettable.

She also writes a series of juvenile/YA mysteries with her partner, Pete Hautmann (who's won awards for his YA books).

Eh.  Maybe I'll check the first one out at the library before I spend $$ or credits.  Thanks, Ladies!
