I know these aren't books and I have put a note in the same thread at the SwapCD site, too.  I have a bunch of LP's mostly from the late 60's and early 70's and no longer any way to play them.  Is anybody interested?  They really should go to somebody who could use them.  I don't want anything for them except maybe enough to pay for the postage to send them to you, and I think they qualify as "media" mail.  I have welll >100 of them---if any interest, send me composers, types of music or artists and I'll see what I have to offer.

If you go to the sister site "SWAP A CD" and open an account there, you can offer your LPs.  There is a special forum for just that purpose to swap vinyl and vintage LPs.  There are many people there who will take the LPs and give you a credit, so that you can order CDs or transfer the credits to PBS.

I am on both sites and have often transferred credits from PBS to Swap-A-CD.

I did join the SwapCD area and put some notes in their discussion forums.  I  haven't heard anything yet.  Remember, though, that they ahve a bit over 4000 membes and there are over 80,000 here, i think so there are 20 times as many here and maybe somebody here would like some classical LP's, too.  I HOPE SO!!.

Maybe there is some interest in these.  I sent off about 35 of them in one box to a friend's daughter who is a violinist..

Kate, et al:  I have lots of Beethoven, Mozart, piano music, almost anything you might like.  I have very little opera, because another person who replied to this post took the few Puccini that I had.  You will have to be more specific, because I have violin and piano concerti, symphanies etc. etc. of all of the above.  Will send a specific PM to Kate about this.

They are indeed records about 12" in diameter with a total of about an hour of recorded sound, usually quite high fidelity.  I used to play them almost constantly, but have mostly gone to listening to NPR and the local classical music stations.  The records are of value to somebody, though, and I will have shipped off 3 boxes of them to 3 different people contacted through this post as of tomorrow.  They are really quite heavy, especially in a batch of them, but media mail makes them fairly inexpensive to mail.

ANYBODY ELSE INTERESTED IN THEM, PLEASE CONTACT ME---LOTS LEFT!!
