As I have visited Monet's garden and home in France, I was especially interested in this book. After reading about the struggles he encountered as an inspiring artist, I now more fully appreciate his marvelous art. If you like French Impressionist art, you will certainly enjoy this wonderful account of Claude and Camille's life.

A most interesting & fascinating book about the famous painter, Claude Monet. Not only does the book tell about Monet, but Monet painting painting side-by-side with other famous painters such as: Cezanne, Renoir, Pissarro & Manet: each who would later become known in the art world. Cowell writes much about Monet's artistic life, as well as his family life, the struggles Monet was challenged with, to become known as an accomplished painter. A great read.
