I have been finding several books for school lately and wondering if people are beginning to clean off their shelves for the end of the school year. It may be a little early for that though.

In any case I am quite happy and if you are someone I recently ordered from, thank you for posting!

I am most definitely already cleaning my bookshelves off.  I figured with homeschool conferences starting soon, people might want to look and get what they can before they have go spend money!! :-)

You figured right!

I've been swapping away to get next year's school books before I go to my local Cincinnati homeschool convention on March 27.  (So far, I've had pretty good luck with our American Lit books and even our high school writing book.  Yay!)

On the other hand, I think I'm still hoarding a few of my books.  I find that a lot of the books I'm ready to post are books my daughter out grew a while ago, and I've just been reluctant to pass them on.  One thing I love about this site is it helps me find someone who really wants my book--which helps me let go.  :)

Happy swapping, everyone!  I'll be watching your shelves.....

I have been culling picture books and my own cookbooks and adult nonfiction and adult fiction. I feel overly-booked here. LOL. I am stacking up credits in hopes that soon some of my wish list or reminder list books will pop into the system because I am finally #1 in line for some that I've been waiting for, for over a year! I have not been ordering books 'to use with homeschooling' much at all, I guess becuase I still feel like I have so many on hand still unused...I've mainly been ordering children's fiction for fun reading  or other types of books for me.

Okay--now I find that I AM cleaning out--just to find more stuff to post.  I keep finding boxes with stuff I've cleaned out a while ago, or random books on my shelf I think someone on PBS might want.  (There's definitely something addictive about this site.) :)

LOL This is terrible, but I feel like I just NOW got the books I wanted for this year!! LOL  I am kinda getting better into the swing of things homeschooling, but I think will do sorta the more year round approach, which means I clean off books like once a month!  Here lately, I haven't had much to add, though, but am gonna have to get my butt in gear from somewhere cause am needing about 50 more credits in order to get the books I want/need for our next unit study on the 50 states!

I found a good English book that I am gonna use for him as far as parts of speech go.  He wants to write desperately, and I told him we would start with the tools of writing.  (However, I am not gonna hold him back from writing just because he doesn't know what parts of speech the words are that he is writing with! LOL  He is very good at his English skills, uses very proper language, and words like 4 syllables long and he's only 7!  I had read somewhere when he was little that if you taught him to speak words with correct English pronunciation, then reading/english would be no problem later on!  It worked!  LOL)

I'm sorry...here I go again bragging about him!  LOL

Anywho, will be looking on here frequently for stuff and I guess for right now our swing of things is he gets a break while Mama goes digging for the next set of stuff to do!  (More or less anyways)

Yes! I have been very busy combing my shelves for books that are no longer needed. I have started to plan for next years curriculum. I find that to be very enjoyable, and a good reason for bringing more books into my home.

So I'm not the only one?? Must be Spring-cleaning fever PBS-style!

I have in-laws coming across country for a wedding here in 2 weeks. They are non-readers, and uncertain about this whole homeschooling 'thing'.

So I'm trying to clear out books like mad. I posted over 40 yesterday to my bookshelf, and have no idea how many to my profile freebies list. There's almost a whole banker's box to add to it when I can.

Thanks Christine D. for reminding us of the reward - bringing new books in! I like making new friends, don't you?

And Dana, I'm even pulling stuff off my http://www.homeschoolclassifieds.com site to post it here! Things that I paid $15 - $20 for, several of which we've never used...

Like Christine M., I am first for quite a few books on my WL, so banking the credits now is a side benefit to clearing out space.

Actually, I did. Had two books from a few English classes I took a semester or two back, and I usually utilized them for reports and what-not. I thought I'd need it, but I haven't been needing to write any reports since last summer, so I swapped it, along with a book for my newspaper class (which I'm still attending, but needn't the book for).

Cleaned off my bookshelf and my son's.  I couldn't believe how many books that he'd outgrown or already read that needed purging.  I guess we need to do this more than twice a year.  :/
