When hubby took some books to mail for me the clerk suggested that we use the click and ship.

Does anyone here use it?

Pros, cons of using it?

I don't know a whole lot about it...nothing actually!  I use the PBS postage-really  easy to use.

there's a catch you cant send media mail that way (using USPS click and ship)

only express or priority mail

but you can use PBS and have printed postage

you could also use paypal

go to http://www.paypal.com/shipnow

and there you can send it express, priority ,first class, or media mail

It's worth doing if you send priority, since there is no cost aside from postage for using it, and it is easy add services like confirmation etc. However, for media mail, no, that's not available.

Just don't use stamps.com...what a nightmare that service is.

An alternative that will let you print media mail postage is PayPal postage.  I find it wonderfully convenient and use it to send all my books.  I always ship my books within a day.  I just print the wrapper to get the address, print PayPal postage, wrap the book and affix the PayPal postage, then put the book in my mailbox for my postal carrier to pick up.  The only time I visit the post office is when I have a package that won't fit in my mailbox.  Then I just park in the 15 minute zone and run in to dump it into their outgoing box that takes packages.

One advantage to printing PayPal postage is that you can track your package from your PayPal account.  The postage ends up with a "track package" linkk next to the entry and when you click on the link, it takes you to the USPS tracking screen.

"I just print the wrapper to get the address"

Kate,

No need to actually print the wrapper to get the address, there is a tab marked "I need to hand write the address" (or, something to that effect)- click on that to get the adress for paypal HTH.

Thanks for all of the tips! I did not know that you could create labels right in paypal! I think I will definitely do that going forward!

Using Paypal for DC is 19c.

I don't use the PBS postage, I don't need the credits in that much of a hurry, I think it's also 19c but that there's an additional 40c fee.

If you use USPS.com for Priority mail then the DC is FREE - can't beat that
