Welcome to the addiction! I was the same way when I first joined. All those books I had been looking for, all right here, just  the click of a button away. Once you get a nice pile of books to be read (AKA Mt. TBR) the addiction will ease . . . a little bit . . . sort of . . . okay, okay I confess, I can't keep more than a handful of credits at a time, but hey, its fun.

I think you're asking that question to the wrong group of people.  lol  No one here is going to try to talk you down.  Of course, there are worse things you could be addicted to.  Personally, I would be excited that I could find 6 books I wanted that weren't WL'd.

The only thing that has stopped me is that I am very low on credits and my shelf isn't moving.

Glad I'm not the only one.   Just decided I've ordered enough books and to save credits, when alas, what do I do but order 4 more...can't resist a good deal. lol

At the lower left of your computer screen Click Start / Shut Down.

There... you have stopped ordering

Or, have a sister like this  http://writerchick.wordpress.com/2007/12/29/maxine-is-my-hero/

I well remember that "kid in a candy store" phase I went through for the first few months after first joining PBS. It's when your TBR stacks go over 500 books that you kind of go...."oh. well. maybe I should stop ordering now and get busy reading some of these?" LOL Actually, a lot of books I ordered in those first few months of frenzied ordering I ended up trading off again unread. It was stuff that looked good, but I didn't give much thought to them and acquired too many books too fast. (The actual number of books I had didn't change much--I was just sending off all these books I'd read and getting a huge TBR.)

Nowadays I rarely order a book that's in the system--I have my whole WL set to auto-request, so that kicks up at least a few orders each week, but I no longer go actively browsing and searching for books...series books I need I have on my Reminder List, along with a few books that sound interesting, but I usually will think twice and three times before ordering them.

So, there is hope! :) It's not that I'm any less of a bookaholic, just that I've gotten pickier about my choices.

I dont want to stop getting books. My only trouble is ordering books that will then sit there a while before I can get around to reading them. Well, as soon as my school reading is done, hopefully I can get around to them soon.

I too am an addict. I can stop for 3 or 4 days, then I just can't stand it! and credits are no problem. Once I found that I could buy them on the book bazaar, I just do that so I will have plenty when the itch strikes.

There's really no cure if you have unlimited room or large capacity to buy Credits, or no partner putting down restricitions for messing with the first 2.  There are many of us (me included) who love our addiction and don't seek to change it.

My dream would be to have a whole room made into a library. Wow, that would be heaven.
