I read Nora Roberts books and love them but havent read any of her JD Robb books..........I'm way behind on the series as there are 43 ? books now?

Question:  Are they worth reading?

If I start them, should I begin with #1 in the series and work my way through them??  I'm a stickler about reading an entire series starting with book one .....

Any suggestions?

I'm thinking about reading and clearing off my TBR as much as I can the rest of this year; then making it my reading challenge for 2012 to begin and catch up to the latest published book of the Robb series (along with reading other books).  I could possibly do it;  in July and August this year for the Cozy Challenge so far I've read 35 books..........so if they're easy to read.........and I can get hold of all of them.......I could do it!

Question:  Are they worth reading?

My opinion only, but yes they're worth it.

I'd try to read the first few in order, not only for Eve and Roarke's relationship to be started and built-upon, but also for the relationships between Eve and co-workers. The books are extremely readable, flow very smoothly, I think, and even some friends who aren't Nora Roberts fans enjoyed the Robb books.

I've read a number of the books out of order and I don't think it matters too much - but I'm compulsive about reading series in order, too. The ones I read out of order were loaned to me by a former co-worker and I couldn't resist enjoying a "free read". I love the series so much I'm slowly acquiring hardcover copies of as many of the earlier books as I can.

Let us know what you decide, Lynn.

Like Gail said, try to read the first ones in order - at last the first three, as I think this was supposed to be a trilogy.

Each story is a stand alone, but with a recurring base of characters who evolve through the series.  I've read plenty of them out of order.

I like them but they're more violent/graphic than I normally read..Il ove Eve and Roarke though and their relationship builds book to book so I've been going in order. I've only read maybe 8-10 though..taking my time.

I zipped through the series (in order, also) but have read the entire series on audio.  Thanks a million to the Philadelphia Library for their Overdrive system!  Susan Erickson, the reader, is terrific at the different voices.  I did not think, before reading the first one, that I would enjoy 'science fiction' but really, they aren't.  Just fun.  With a little gore tossed in for good measure.  heh.
