I am officially fed up with pbs. After being ripped on in a few swaps and not having WL books I order even show up at all I'm done. Not worth the aggravation.

I am in alot of games in the game forum. Can I ust put my account on hold or do I need to wait until they are over? Will people be able to see my account profile with it on hold ?

Sherry, of course you can put your account on hold.   I do it every time I go on a long trip.  You can go to your settings and put everything on private.    You'll want to leave your profile public so you can get PM's about the games.  But you can delete almost everything from your profile.

Sherry, am sorry about your frustration and your run of bad luck.  Most swaps on the site go well as expected, and most members are happy with the books they receive.  Only a small percentage of swaps "go bad" but of course if it is happening to us, it's  just the worst feeling!  I hope your PBS luck turns around soon and you get some good experiences headed your way...

I've been a member of PBS for three years, and it is my belief that your experiences are NOT the norm at PBS.   In those three years, I've received 544 books.  I only had to mark 7 of those books Received With a Problem (and I'm not shy about doing this at all).  And only three books went lost.   So that's pretty good in my eyes.

There are, of course, always exceptions to the rules, and I'm sorry that you had mostly bad experiences with PBS and it's members.

These were not for the most regular book swaps. I had 2 wl books not mailed that I got fifo, and 2 swappers never mailed over in the games forums.

I have marked 3 books RWAP in almost 2 years. Thats great to me but its when books never show that annoys me.

YOu should have gotten your credits back when the WL books went lost. Also in the games: if the books weren't mailed, the credits they put in to join the game should have gone to you. They'll get on the bad swappers list and not be allowed to join other games.

Sherry, I would be willing to bet money that those were likely from new sign-ups who either didn't really understand the system or never intended to be active but just wanted the free credits.  I'm not trying to be negative or cynical but I've learned to check who's posted whatever wishlist title I'm being offered.  If it's a new member, I don't get excited until they actually mark it mailed.

I've just had the same title offered to me for the third time in as many weeks.  I have another that was offered on Sat that is the third time in four weeks.  I'm waiting on it to time out as well.  Shrugs.  I'll get them eventually.  I'm paitent.

The games would irritate me a bit but liek Mary says, you should have gotten their sign-up credits (small comfort, sometimes) and they will not be allowed to join any other games until they make right on your swaps.
