Rice uses 8 main characters to look at how we struggle with emotions which hold us together at the same time that they push us apart. Terminal illness is the catalyst to explore how we behave when those we love either don't live up to expectations, or exceed our expectations. This book is an emotional roller coaster while it entertains and satisfies. If you've ever lost a loved one you might recognize yourself here. Although medical details seem unlikely, the relationships ring true. I really enjoyed this book and am about to go look for more by Luanne Rice.

I really enjoyed this book, but fair warning, have some tissues nearby!

Heartwrenching, deeply emotional story that kept me engaged from beginning to end.

One of my all time faves by Rice. Written so well I never forgot it.
