This book only had one or two stories that I had read about before. The remainder was very interesting. This book also serves as a guide to historical places to visit such as bed and breakfast establishments. Leslie did a good job of historical research for her book. I hope you all enjoy the book as much as I did!
The stories in Coast to Coast Ghosts are "bone chilling" as are most ghost stories. The author is able to put a personal touch on each story, however, she writes as though she is a high school student in a creative writing class...at least to me. I could not finish the book. I have not read her other books or books written by her mother, so I do not know if this is her writing style, influenced by her mother, or if she was just very young when she wrote the draft for this book. If you are picky in regards to grammar, sentence structure or flow, you might want to try another author.
This book gives much to those who have experienced things they just can't explain. Flickering lights, cold breezes with no windows open, etc. Filled with black and white photographs and spine-tingling stories of places and their dead from coast to coast. This is a real good book. I couldn't put it down and wound up staying up late just to finish it and then I had to sleep with the lights on for the rest of the night.
Very spooky ghost stories!!!
Leslie Rule, daughter of true-crime novelist Ann Rule, does a great job with these ghost stories. Rather than just writing second- or third-hand accounts (like most ghost stories, giving them an "urban legend" feel), Rule actually visited the places and spoke first-hand with witnesses to the paranormal. Rule also tells of her own personal experiences with the supernatural, both growing up and as an adult.
The chapters are divided up nicely into the types of ghosts discussed: ghosts of children, hotel ghosts, even ghost pets! Another nice addition are the black and white photos of the locations, taken by Rule herself.
Guaranteed to make the hair on the back of your neck stand up at least once!
I loved this book. It is written by the daughter of crime author, Ann Rule. Don't read this one at home alone.
The reviews sounded great, but I was a little disapointed. I think because there are so many small short stories I felt like the book was rather choppy. It is easy to pick up and put down for later though, which many people like. I also felt like she had too many explanations which could be fabricated in anyones mind. It got great reviews so others must have felt differently from me!
Boring..Boring...Boring. Didn't get into this one at all, couldn't finish the first story.
This is a book of diverse supposedly true ghost stories by the daughter of Ann Rule.
This book gives some great stories about encounters with different ghosts around the United States. It was a very interesting book.
Spookie stories--not to be read at night if no else is in the house and you are...alone.
I really enjoyed this book. The stories were well researched, and the author wrote in a refreshing style.
This is a great book. Easy to read. I recommend it. I'm watching for some of her others here!
Good book, However I would have liked more information about some of the hauntings. Some of the stories were too short...
Filled with black and white photographs and real-life spine-tinglers that take you on a nationwide journey to places where the dead refuse to rest. Well-written with archival research to accompany some of the stories.
Very familiar stories but many new ones.
A collection of ghost stories from across America.
A variety of true ghost stories. Excellent!
This is an terrific book with many short stories regarding hauntings...I'm usually kind of skeptical about such things...but this book may have changed my mind.
This book wasn't as great as I expected it to be but it was ok. Some of the stories were good.
I read this book in an amazingly short amount of time for me. I really enjoyed this and at times I had to stop reading because I was scaring myself. Excellent book, enough to at the very least cast doubt in the mind of a non-believer!
A very interesting book on real ghosts, spirit, and angels.
Very good ghost stories.
This book was a very good read and draws you in until you cant put it down. Very informative.
A very easy read but a well written book. The author seems very down to earth.
