Book Reviews of Then Comes Seduction (Huxtables, Bk 2)

I was surprised...I really liked this book (I thought the first one was all right, not good). At first, I was thinking this guy is a jerk when I read the part about the bet. He bets his friends that he can take Katherine's innocence in a mere 2 weeks. Then at Vauxhall Gardens you begin to see that he is not all he seems to be and you start to like him a bit. I liked how Katherine was able to help him come to terms with his awful childhood and teach him how to recognize love. Even if you have yet to read the first book in the series, this book is still a good read. There are a couple of mentions of things that happened in the first book, but nothing that affects the plot, and the reader's enjoyment, of this book.

england 1800s . Loved this book. An introduction between the hero / heroine at the very beginning makes you wanting more, only to have to wait 3 years for their romance to begin. But the time makes the story so much better as their characters have developed the traits necessary to make this book and their relationship grow so well. A little predictable with the protagonists, but it doesn't take away from the happily ever after.

I thought this was one of her best books. The story was interesting and well-told, but I have to say that I really enjoyed the unexpected humorous bantering between the 2 main characters!

You know you've got a wonderful series underway when the votes split over which book is better!

Now that I have the first two tales of the saga under my belt and must wait patiently for the next installment, I'll amuse myself by declaring the first in the series the better book so far and seeing if the fur flies.

If for no other reason, I was simply delighted by the Austen-esque feel of the first book and just adored Vanessa. Anticipating more of the same, it was a bit of a shock to watch the first of this tale unfold! It was very, very difficult to like Jasper after the horrible episode at Vauxhall Gardens. Even after all the issues were resolved in the end, I still feel he was rather weak in character.

BUT, even after that declaration, let me clarify that this nit-picking in no way detracts from the pure readability of the book. It's been a wonderful journey so far and I'm feeling inclined to camp out at the New Release book kiosk waiting for Margaret's story.

Hurry, hurry! I'm ready for more ...

Her best book in years.

Really Liked It! Wonderful characters written with humor and insight. Read it in a matter of hours. The bad boy in this book is wonderful. You want the characters to find resolution. The set up for the rest of the series is interesting. Once again Ms. Balogh leaves me anxious for the next installment of her current series. At least I only have to wait a month for it!

Usually i don't read to many "mushy" romance reads. But this one grabbed me for the cover and i had liked this author before so i tried book 2. It was wonderful. I can honestly say it was well written and i really did like this book, now i will look for book 3.

it was good

Again, in this second installment of the Huxtable kids, a bit tame and predictable. Good characters that were well developed and multi-dimensional, but the plot seemed a bit thin. Maybe I was expecting too much or was bored by the lack of intensity in the romance dance Jasper and Kate were performing... A decent story.

Great stuff, Balogh's characters are not wimps.

One of her best series.

I liked the second half of the book better than the first. I did like Katherine as a character all the way through, but I couldn't see how Jasper could possibly redeem himself. The condition that Katherine places on their wager later in the book makes the development of their relationship more interesting.

Some of the language used was not very Regency, but no book is perfect, right?

This is the 2nd book in a really great series. I loved this one!
