Topic: Companion series to Magic Tree House books?

My neice says there is a companion series to the MTH books (not the research guides).  Does anyone know who they are and who they're written by?

I think that the first 28 books are the original Magic Tree House series.  Books 29 to 44 are called the Magic Tree House "Merlin Missions".
