This is an excellent true story of the events in the 1920's of the murder of a young boy by two wealthy jewish college students. The events into the minds of the two killers, the reaction of the community, and the discussion of wether or not these two should face the death penalty. Its something that we as a nation have STiLL not resolved even to this day in our minds or courts. Excellent writing by a newspaper man who was there. There is an excellent film made in the 1950s which closely follows the novel and stars orson Welles.

Inspired by one of the most infamous crimes ever committed-the Leopold-loeb case, in which 2 privelaged young men kidnapped and killed a child for the intellectual challenge-this is a gripping portrayal of societys first thrill-killing and its sensational trial.
