I am new to Paper Back Swap.  I was looking at the Club Wish List.  If I have a book that someone else is "wishing" for  how do I let them know I have it?  I realized I had the book and posted it, but how do I let them know?  Will they receive notice that someone has posted it?

Welcome to PBS Beverly!

If you have posted a book on your bookshelf that is wishlisted by another member, you will automatically be notified by the automated PBS system. Under some circumstances, there is a one hour lag time (buyers remorse wait period).  After that time (and depending on whether or not the next wisher has the book on auto request) you will find the transaction under 'My Account' tab, under 'Books To Mail' tab or 'Waiting on Other Member' (ie waiting for requesting member to confirm they still want to book).

When the transaction is ready for action, you can click the 'Print Mailing Label' option and packge book for mailing!  With wet winter weather upon us, many members appreciate senders who use plastic wrap under maling label (see wrapping instructions).

Beverly, welcome to PBS.

The PBS "system" will alert whoever is the first in line that a copy of the book being "wished for" is now available.

You don't have to do anything -- in fact, unless you stumble across a someone wish list with this particular title randomly or someone is a buddy and you know she is wishing for this book, there's really no (easy) way for you to know the identity of the wisher.

Please keep in mind that the WL works by ISBN. If you posted a book of the same title/author but the ISBN doesn't match, the system will also send out a notice that a "Similar to" book was posted into the system. Some members have opted to turn such notices off, or they are regarded by their email systems as spam. You can go to the ISBN with the WL, and created a tag called "available as "

Good luck, and I hope you enjoy PBS.

Here's a link to help doc describing how the WL works: http://www.paperbackswap.com/help/help_item.php?id=23
