Has anyone read The Condition?  Thoughts?  I am going to WL it, but I saw a pretty negative review here on PBS.  Just wondering what others' thoughts are...

I just finished it for Book Club, and swapped it out.  It wasn't fabulous, but it was interesting.  Really, it took until about the last 10 pages for me to begin caring about the characters, I've not read other books by this author, but she didn't stun me with her storytelling ability in this one.

That was the general feel from the Book Club too was that it was mildly interesting, but not good.

Thanks for the reply Mimi!  Maybe I'll hold off on that one for a while.  I'll add it to the Reminder List and try to get through my stack of TBRs first.  :)  thanks again.

I think that's wise, it's not one to rush out and get, I agree, Are her other books good, I've not read the author.

I just started Baker Towers and so far I really like it.  I'll post back when I'm finished!

You're right, Tasha, 'Baker Towers' did get good reviews. I'm about 100 pages in and am really enjoying the story and the author's writing style. It's well-paced and the characters are so richly drawn that I feel as if I have met them in person!

That's encouraging!  Maybe I'll get Baker Towers before The Condition...

Finished Baker Towers over the weekend. I really enjoyed it, and definitely recommend it.  I loved Jennifer Haigh's writing style, the pace of the story, and the characterizations. I will definitely be looking in to other books by this gifted writer!
