I keep reading the synopsis but it doesn't seem to change. Is it saying she falls in love with her uncle? She is taking care of her three siblings, waiting for an uncle already there. Will love grow between them...

I read it in the new Christianbook.com catalog and looked it up for a more complete synopsis but it still seems like it's her uncle.

Is this just very poorly worded or something?

That does seem odd....maybe it works like this.  Since it says she is "estranged" from the father that dies and they are "distant" siblings...her parents divorced. Her dad re-married and had three kids who would be her half-siblings.  Then the dad and the new wife die in some terrible accident, leaving her guardianship of the three kids.  The uncle is the new wife's brother...so he is uncle to the three half-siblings, but not to the girl.  Does that make sense?  Even if it does, it would be a little weird for the siblings....your half-sister marrying your uncle??

If you reread the synopsis it doesn't say she falls in love with "her" uncle.....

"When the death of Meridith's estranged father leaves her with custody of three siblings she's never met, she reluctantly goes to Nantucket to care for them--but only until their uncle returns from his trip."

Sounds very much like this is like Christa says, this is a second or third marriage and this is the brother of that wife so, not a blood relation.  Also, not really weird in the least.

Yeah, it has to be what Christa says.

I just assumed the use of "their uncle" included the 3 siblings and her.

I'll have to read it to see, I guess! smiley

maybe it is the mothers brother and the kids have a different mother so it wouldn't be her uncle just the kids uncle.  That is a kinda wierd story base.  But it does say "Will the love that grows between them be strong enough to overcome the secrets that brought them both to Driftwood Lane?"  Maybe she was adopted or there is some other secret that reveals why she should be falling in love with her uncle.  Or maybe we are taking love to mean a something more than it is maybe its like family love?  Wierd now I might have to read this book.
