Why is it that when you add a new book image to fill a blue box: sometimes the image appears first on the main book page, but not yet (or ever) in the smaller images on Bookshelf, Reminder etc., pages; and sometimes the image appears first on the Bookshelf, Reminder etc., pages, but not on the main book page? I understand why a new, better image can take weeks to replace a older, poorer one, but the above has me puzzled. Last Edited on: 1/27/13 5:46 PM ET - Total times edited: 6 |

Hi Thomas, If the image isn't large enough or the resolution is poor, it won't show up. It really is dependent on the quality of the image that is uploaded. I have found that the largest (physical size - not MB), highest quality image I can find will generally show up everywhere. |

If the image isn't large enough or the resolution is poor, it won't show up. I usually put up images that are at least 1 MB in size, and about 1000 pixels high. I've been keeping good resolution and not optimizing for the Web. Last Edited on: 1/27/13 8:12 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

From what I understand the images can be stored on different servers so that may be why you don't see them consistently. They may need to synch and it can take some time for that to happen. Even when I fix an image that hasn't been cropped and upload it sometimes I see the old image. You can try CTRL+F5 to refresh and see if that helps. |

What Suzanne says!
PBS Images are hosted on several different servers, and the server that is sending images to your computer may not be synched up with the other servers, which is why images are not always consistent across different site locations, and also why new images submitted and approved do not show up right away. |

And why should I believe either Suzanne or Sianeka, when they are obviously cat persons? After all, as my dog has often told me, cats are proof that not everything in life has a function! Thank you ladies! I understand why now. |

<<And why should I believe either Suzanne or Sianeka, when they are obviously cat persons?>> Actually, they are cats. It is a little known PBS secret, that all of the data and image fixes are actually done by felines. Something about the computer mice drives them wild ... |
