It's been awhile since I posted any books, and I'm finding it confusing.  Are the books in my public book shelf in the general search of posted books?  When I search for my posted books with one of the tags I used (knitting patterns) my own books don't come up in the list of books posted for swapping.  Do your own books not show up?  Or did I do something wrong when I tried to post them?

When you search for a book that's on your own bookshelf, the book should show up, but with no "order" button.  Other members will see the order button, but the software doesn't allow you to order a book from yourself.

If you just created a new listing (perhaps for a non-ISBN book), it takes a while before it is fully integrated into the database, so you might not find it in a search until an hour or two after you created it.

This help doc has some other possible answers to your question:

If a book you posted doesn't show up in the system...

Just click on the Bookshelf link under your name on your post and you can see what books you have posted into the system. Currently you have 2 showing as available to order on your shelf.

Also - the normal booksearch feature does not search tags.

Good point, Mary.

Bonnie, if you go to one of your books and click on one of the tags there, you'll get a list of all the books with that same tag.  There are several hundred books that share the same tag, so you'll need to look at more than one page of results, but your books will be there.

I temporarily put your books on my reminder list, to see how many copies of each are available.  The good news is that there's only one copy of each (yours), in the system, so they may get requested quickly.  At least that's what happened for me, when I listed a 'how to' book on rug making last week, and mine was the only one in the system -- got requested 2 days after I listed it.
