This one really beats out the biased boring effort of Prescott which is the benchmark on the History of the conquest of Mexico. It provides a real history of Cortes's war against the Aztec Empire. If you have any interest in this History read this one. It was written by one of the last Conquistators and he was pushed into writting it. He admits to being a lousy writer but the Translation cleans that up very well.
