A fascinating rogues gallery of seedy boozing Englishmen, discontented wives, wandering women of uncertain virtue and inscrutable Malays & Chinese vie at the uneasy frontier where supposed civilization clashes with exotic jungle. An entertaining tale told with a great sense of incongruity & wit.
