In a book as new and exciting as solar energy (inspiration for one of the quilts shows) the author explores our contemporary world and shows how today's quilter can find ideas in unlikely and sometimes unusualsources. The quilters attitudes and feelings can inspire quilts as in "Save the Whales" or "Back to Nature". Almost everything or anything can result in a magnificent family heirloom quilt. 31 quilts are shown in full color, a large number of black-and white drawings and photographs, 58 piecing plans, detailed instructions and step-by step examples of the evolution of quilt designs.
