I currently have three brand new copies of the following cookbook for South American food on my shelf. (Actually, only one is listed on my shelf, since you can't put the same book on twice at the same time, but I do have three copies to send out, for one credit each.)
World Cuisine: South America Cookbook This is NOT Mexican food or Tex-Mex; the recipes here are from such countries as Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, and those cuisines are quite different from Mexican. I know -- I lived for many years in Mexico, and I'm married to a Peruvian who is a good cook! The recipes in this book are reasonably authentic; my hubby learned to make several of these dishes in his native land. The book is in English, using metric measurements (grams instead of cups, etc.) A photo of each dish appears on the page facing the recipe.
These other cookbooks are also on my shelf (one credit per book):
The Wok: A Complete and Easy Guide to Preparing a Wide Variety of Authentic Chinese Favorites (Nitty Gritty Cookbooks) -- Bristol Publishing 1982 Make Now, Serve Later Recipes --
