Great starter book and for the kitchen challenged and just for trying new dishes that you think you can't do. Great color photos and how-to's on every page. Nice, tons of recipes.
Soups, salads, vegetable, pizza, breads, desserts, main course.

This cookbook is the opposite of basic. I've been cooking many years and I like home cooking, nothing too exotic. If you can't get the ingredients in the grocery store, I'm not interested. Every recipe calls for ridiculous ingredients. One example is caster sugar, who cooks all desserts with caster sugar? If you are looking for a basic cookbook, this is definitely not it.
