How do I tell how many copies of a book there are on SwapaPB? I have some books listed on my bookshelf but have no idea how many are ahead of me to be requested!! - Tks, David - Merry Christmas to all! |

Add the book to your Reminder List. This list includes how many copies are offered. We cannot see where we are in the FIFO line. But we can see the total number listed. Last Edited on: 12/21/14 5:37 PM ET - Total times edited: 2 |

What Emily said. Although it's a pretty clumsy way to see how many copies of a book are currently listed, this is the only way the PBS provides to members for this information. In addition, you might also want to check other ISBN listings for books with the same title and author to get a broader picture of how many total copies are available from members in all editions, especially for popular books. To find all available copies and editions of a given book, try an Advanced Search (under the Search tab) and specify Title and Author instead of an ISBN, and either Posted Books or All Books in the Search Type field. Specifying Posted Books will show all copies of a book currently listed by members, some of which may have different ISBNs and short ISBNs, whereas All Books will in addition show editions of the book that are not currently posted and may be on members' wish lists. But remember, just because you are #100 or higher when you add a book to FIFO request list, doesn't mean your book couldn't get requested tomorrow. When members order a book from your shelf and 'add more' to save you postage, your book way down the list could be the extra one they choose! |
