This book was great. I was hooked from page one. It is a very fast paced read. I am an Erica Spindler fan, and I have to say I think this is her best book yet. The plot of this story is great. I know that little children are involved, so that makes it a little disturbing, but it is written with taste. She is not graphic about the killings. I would recommend this book to mystery lovers, it is definately a worth while read.
This is the first novel I've read by this author and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. It's a chilling story and every single time I thought I had it figured out, there was a twist! I love mysteries that keep you guessing until the very end.
Can Kitt catch the sleeping angel killer this time around? The killer is back after 5 years and is mocking the police. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat guessing who it is. I would recommend this book to my friends. It kept my interest.
Excellent book, could not put it down.
It was an excellent read! Keeps you guessing til the very end!
Another brilliantly written masterpiece of intrigue, murder, and deception by Spindler. The SAK (Sleeping Angel Killer), who specializes in the murders of blonde blue eyed 10 year old little girls in their beds in their homes, is back at work after a 5 year hiatus.... Or is it a Copycat? That is what the "real" SAK is telling the newly returned lead detective on the case.... the last bout with this murderer sent her into alcoholism and cost her her job and marriage... Will it cost her life this time?
The Sleeping Angel Killer provides the chilling focus to Spindler's 12th bloodcurdling romantic thriller (after Killer Takes All). Kitt Lundgren and Mary Catherine "M.C." Riggio of the Rockford, Ill., VCB (Violent Crimes Bureau) vow to catch a serial killer who sets the suffocated bodies of 10-year-old girls in their own beds, dressed like angels in frilly white nightgowns, hair spread out on their pillows and pink lip gloss applied postmortem to their mouths. Spindler's setting of a "meat-and-potatoes" Midwest town provides a fresh background for two believable and very cool investigators. Kitt, a recovering middle-aged alcoholic, tried and failed to catch the murderer five years earlier, during a 2001 killing spree, while her own child was dying of leukemia and her marriage was falling apart under the strain. Now, when eerily similar crimes recur, someone calls Kitt, identifying himself as the original killer and the new perp as just a copycat. M.C., an ambitious, distrustful newbie, is assigned to help Kitt with the investigation. The detectives must overcome their personal problems in order to catch the monsters, a task culminating in a breathless finale.
Great book!! She is a great writer. This book kept my interest until the very last word. Suspenseful and full of twist and turns!! Enjoy all of her books.
Another great Spindler book. Three 10 yr. old girls have been found dead in their beds. Kitt Lundgreen is assigned to the case. Her young daughter is dying. Can she keep her head in the game? Five years later after losing everything she holds dear, she climes out of a bottle, and is working again aas a cop. Now the killer is back and he is talking to Kitt. Can she find him before he kills again?
This was my first Erica Spindler book and I liked it so much, I've already ordered another one! Great read, kept you guessing until the very end. I thought I had it figured out, but ended up being wrong in the end.
Scary thriller with the murder of innocent little girls at the center. There is a copy cat killer and our heroines, one a disgraced veteran and the other a young but very ambitious detective, must put aside their mutual suspicions of each other and race to solve the case. Some very interesting characters, some red herrings and according the author another book will come featuring this very intriguing pair.
This was a book that I didn't want to put down. I did suspect part of the whodunit, but as usual for Spindler, there was a spin at the end. The characters went through many theories of their own, which were hard to follow at times because they kept changing their minds. Overall it was enjoyable though.
fast....just when I think I know whodunnit, I find I'm wrong!!!
Another great book by Spindler-- I love this author.
VERy good story!! Will you figure it out before they do?
This was a book I found in my Mother's closet. It was also a book I found hard to put down.
I just finished this book! WOW it was excellent. It took place really close to my home town so it was kind of eerie. I can't wait to read more books from this author. It has to be one of the best books I have ever read!
This has to be one of the best books I have read this year by far!!!
I really liked the way relationships were described and unfolded in this book in addition to the story/mystery/suspense.
I just picked this book up for something to do - WOW! I could not put it down. A lot of intrigue here. I kept trying to guess "who dunnit", but I was blown away when it was revealed. A little bit of romance. A lot that tugs on your heartstrings. A lot of mystery.
I'll certainly be looking up more by author Kitt Lundgren.
Like BLOOD VINES this probably won't go down as one of my favorite Spindler books...and can't quite pinpoint how it fell short for me (characterization I think) BUT from the author notes I"m guessing she wrote this during Hurricane Katrina and I know she had to leave her home...LAST KNOWN VICTIM is so much better written than this one. That said, it's a good book. The second book in the series, BREAKNECK was actually a lot better!
Loved this thriller..........kept me guessing for most of the book! The ending was what a thriller should be............
"Five years ago, three young victims were found murdered, posed like little angels. No witnesses, no evidence left behind. The Sleeping Angel Killer called his despicable acts "the perfect crimes." the case nearly destroyed homicide detective Kitt Lundgren's career--because she let the killer get away. Now the Sleeping Angel Killer is back. But kitt notices something different about this new rash of killings--a tiny variation that suggests a copycat killer may be re-creating the original "perfect crimes." - worldcat.org
Another can't miss book by Erica Spindler.
