I got a project assigned that's due in a week.

I have to give a 5-7 minute presentation/demonstration/speech about one of my hobbies, and I chose cosplay.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks that I could include?  I've got an overall idea of what I'm going to do, but it would be cool if I could include tips from other coplayers besides myself.

Thanks :3

I'd be happy to contribute, but "cosplay" is rather vague...  what aspect of cosplay are you going to go into / explain?

As a general thought, perhaps you could mention the popularity of "cross-play" within the category...  or how duct tape can help save any costume!!!  Maybe include some tips for posing to make for better photo-opps?

Will you be demonstrating????   If so, which character???   (my last cosplay was as Shikamaru from Naruto...)

ETA: Cosplay story.  I was at a convention many years ago and was unfamiliar with Naruto anime.  But there were a group of Naruto cosplayers there, posing for photos.  I saw one really awesome costume and asked if I could take picture.  My subject agreed and asked if I wanted him to pose.  I had been watching the group for a while before I'd asked, and saw some cool ninja poses / fighting stances, so I said "SURE!  I'd love that!"

My subject proceeded to take out a book and started reading...

I took the picture and thanked him.  I was a little disappointed.  Then, I started watching Naruto anime and identified the character of Kakashi Hatake, who has a habit of reading perverted books whenever he has the chance.  THEN, I truly appreciated my photo, and now I'm excited when I see that picture again...   LOL

Thank you very much :D

I ended up talking about how to choose a first cosplay, and thanks for the crossplay suggestion, I managed to talk about that for a while.

Overall, I think it was a success :D

Thanks for the awesome story.
