Do you all know there is a book in the PBS collection called Motherland: Beyond the Holocaust, by Fern Chapman? The description says it is about a daughter who seeks to learn her mother's experience with it. And there was another book (memoir) called Looking for Lost Bird, by Yvette Melanson and Claire Safran. It's about a Jewish woman with Navaho 'roots'. Just more proof that Truth is Stranger than Fiction . . . . and there is a copy of Irene Nemirovsky's novel available through PBS----and it only came to light 64 years after she perished at the hands of the Nazis.
