Hope someone can shed some light.

When I receive a personal message I click on it, read it and maybe respond.  I click away -maybe to my book shelf, main page, lists etc.  The Personal message tab still shows I have a message(s).  I will click back thinking a I received another, but no new message.  It can take up to a minute to disappear.  Is this just the PBS system running slow or is it a browser thing.  Running IE7

Fonts- is there way in the threads to increase the size of hte font- so I can actually see it (not saying I am old).  I keep the resolution on my computer high, but I adjust my apps so the views appear in a larger font.  I have tried increasing the view of the browser from 100% to 125% - reading the threads - there isn't any problem, but when  replying the characters are distorted.  I am thinking that there isn't any way - but wanted to confirm.  Thanks

About the personal message thing, that happens to me, too... even though I read a new message, the message tab still says I have a message(s). So, you're not the only one experiencing it! I'm curious about it, too. Maybe someone else knows why that happens.

I have the personal message thing happen all the time.  It eventually goes away.  Glad to know I'm not the only one who experiences this.  Don't know why though.

I don't believe you can do anything about the font size. At one time I think it was larger, but then was changed and if memory serves me right there's no way to change it.  Pat

You can change font size in your browser. For firefox I think it's under view > zoom > text only. Or at least that's how you change the font size on a mac. I'm sure someone can chime in with exact directions.

Ah, nevermind, I saw you wanted the reply text to be bigger. Sorry.

There's another way if you have a mouse with a dial on it - you somehow hold one button down (left one?) and then spin the dial and it will make the text on the page bigger or smaller.

I don't have an external mouse.  In IE when you enlarge the text will get larger but then it becomes distorted.   When reading and I do that - it looks fine.   Really I am not getting old !!

ok - I downloaded Firefox because IE hangs on this site all the time. When I zoom in on the text it isn't distorted.   I can see - oh my.  Maybe now I won't make as many spelling errors.  I am going to watch the personal message tab as well.   I wonder if it is an IE thing. thanks for all your tips on zooming.  It would have not dawned on me to try it in firefox since it failed in IE

{smiling}

edited - spelling seems ok - left out words :(

The personal message thing is not an IE thing...I run Firefox and it does that to me too.

The PM thing has been happening to me too...Now, when I read a message for the first time, I check delete or archive.  I didn't do that before...I just changed screens, but now I make my choice, and the PM tab goes away.  Hope it helps.

Thanks Suzanne -- I just don't like to archive or delete right away.  It just drives me crazy - I always snarl at the red number.   Thanks for the tip though -for ones I know I want to archive or delete right off I will mark it delete or archive.  It may save me a little sanity.
