strong, independent woman, disappointed by her previous marriage, Sarah moves to Oregon (1873) to live with her best friend Phoebe and to also begin a new life. There she writes advice columns for the town newspaper (one under her real name, and another under a pen name), and falls in love with a "Mr. Brown" (whom she's never met, and can't seem to find), who writes to her column every week. -- Of course, if you read the book, you'll know all along who this "Mr. Brown" is, and you'll be quite eager for Sarah to find out who the mystery man is. -- This is a cute book about friendship and romance, and you'll only wish it were longer when you finish!
