This is the sweet, perhaps a bit offbeat, coming of age story for Lindsay, who begins her life at what some would consider to be a disadvantage - the wrong side of the tracks - but one she overcomes nonetheless. A favorite. Written in the 60s and the dialogue and descriptions reflect that.
