The investigators try to put the guilt on the husband's back, but he is not guilty. With two other people dying out of the ordinary they have come to the conclusion that something fishy is going on at the hospital. This "amazing" doctor has somehow been able to give babies to women who could never have babies but all of a sudden become pregnant. When Katie comes to find out she's going to have to have emergency surgery at this hospital she doesn't think anything of it until she gets a very weird feeling at the hospital that something weird is going on. This book was written in 1988 when she was really writing books and not just knocking them off in rapid succession. Very suspenseful, quick read and a Mystery Guild Main Selection.
