My book club is reading Nabikov's Lolita this month, and I'm wondering if anyone else had read this. I like to try to do something creative for our meetings to make things more fun, and so I'm wondering if any of you have any ideas for a good way to host. We're already planning a Lolita movie night, so any ideas other than that would be welcome!

I think it might be interesting to include portions of reviews of both the book and the movie. Both forms also drew the attention of the press, and you might try to track some of those comments down.

(I hope you'll be watching the original version of the movie, and not the dreadful remake.)

There are actually a couple of versions in film -- the 1962 version directed by Stanley Kubrick and a 1997 version directed by Adrian Lyne. I recently read a book called The Male Body by Susan Bordo. One chapter is devoted to her responses and analysis of the different film versions and the book.

Maybe do a compare / contrast using the Bordo chapter as a guide?
