While trying to think of things I want for Christmas, I thought why not PBS credits?  Seems wonderful, since you're getting the books from actual people, not huge corporations like Barnes&Noble, etc.

If someone isn't a PBS member, can they buy them somehow for a PBS member?

I believe the Kiosk is only viewable to members, right?

Yes they'd need to be a member to get you credits. Might be easier for them to send you money thru paypal and then you buy credits using that money.

Actually, they don't need to be logged in to use the kiosk to buy gift certificates (available for credits, Box-O-Books subscriptions or Gold Key membership).

The details in the Kiosk under gift certificates state:

"Keep in mind, that anyone can purchase PBS Gift Certificates (Hint, hint ... gift ideas for your friends when they ask you what you'd like this year.)"

I tried accessing the kiosk and ordering a gift certificate from a different browser while not logged in, and it let me go to the payment portion of the transaction, so it seems like it should work.

One thing to be cautious of: make sure whomever is buying understands that a GC for "Box-O-Books" does not literally send you a "box full of paperbacks".  I've had Live Help queries on that before -- folks buying several certificates because they wanted to get several boxes of books to read.

They must have just fixed that Catt! Its never worked (even though it said it should) and always asked for you to log in when you tried. I even tested it earlier today when I saw this post and it took me to a log in screen when I tried to buy a GIft Certificate.

I just tried it without being logged in and when I tried to purchase a GC, it took me to the log in page.   I looked at credits while being logged out and it states you must be logged in to purchase credits.
