Currently these are not to be posted on PBS.  I understand why magazines such as Magic Crochet, Decrorative Crochet, etc., aren't allowed, but why not allow crochet and needlecraft patterns?       Yes they are less pages, but those ordering them know that.

I wonder if PBS could be convinced to create a genre specific area for this type item.

What does the PBS memebership think?

Though pmphlets can't be posted to the system, they are considered unpostable "books" so, unlike magazines, they can be offered in the Bazaar for credit. The Team's reasoning is that when posted in the system, the requester doesn't get ot know the full details and may be disappointed on the small  pamphlets but through the Bazaar they will be able to know exactly what they are getting.

I didn't realize that there was a rule about page count until I saw it mentioned it in the forums, and I moved a short (32 page) bird care book off of my bookshelf last night. But when I looked it up in the help documents, I found this:

In the PBS help document "What can be posted for swapping here?" it says:

"A leaflet or pamphlet is an item with 20 or fewer pages. A booklet is an item with between 20 and 50 pages. Leaflets/pamphlets/booklets without ISBNs are not permitted to be posted to PBS for swapping. Leaflets/pamphlets/booklets with ISBN may be posted; if so,

  • the number of pages must be included in the item description

  • the item needs to be clearly described in the listing with regards to its brief length/small size

If I'm correct, I just need to submit a description for the book which clearly states that it is a "booklet" and emphasizes the page count, and then I should be able to repost it to my bookshelf, because my book has an ISBN.

Is this correct?

Yes, if your booklets have ISBNs on them, as long as you make sure the system has the page count showing you would be able to post them.

I was really disappointed last week when I got a "pocket edition" PB that turned out to be a booklet with only 54 pages (yep, just over the 50 page req for posting) and much smaller than pocket sized PBs!  The description listing had not included number of pages nor size of book.
