If anyone has either done this pattern before, or has some insight into what I'm missing, I'd really appreciate some help.  I love this pattern,

but I get to the point where they say "remove loop from hook, insert hook in last stitch of beginning chain" in the middle of the first round, and I get stuck.  I think there must be a slip stitch to fasten off, and the pattern picture points to some spot and says "unaio" (I think meaning join) but there's nothing in the instructions.  If you can figure this out, and would be willing to share, I'd really appreciate it!

Hi, my name is Mary.  I just clicked on the link and looked at the crochet instructions you're referring too. Well, I see what she is doing, but the way she is describing it I think is rather complicated. The way I see it, I think you should just join. I don't quite understand either why u have to remove the hook and insert it nto the last sticch of the beginning chain. I also like this pattern.  I never seen anything like this before.  I would love to try it myself, but I'm going to have to wait till I get home. I'm at my daughters now and not available to any yarn.  Have you tried experimentng ? When I get home I am definitely going to try this out. I've been crocheting for over 40 years, but Im still a bit confused. If you have already figured this out could you give me a holler and let me know how u did ?  Thanks.

Hi Mary, did you ever try this pattern?  I haven't figured it out yet, unfortunately.  Any other insights on this one?

I'm sitting here trying to do this circle. What I did was I just took the hook out and joined it in the first loop like they said and joined it to the last loop to close it.  But I'm confused about what the other part is. These instructions are not very clear. I know there has to be a easier way to do this.  I think there saying in the 2nd part to do 12 double crochet in each group around and a ss where the previous one is. the first section i did looks like the picture but i'm confused about the color add on.  What do u think about it.  Just try joining and see what you come up with and then tell me. I also like the pattern, but it is confusing.  I'm in the middle of making somthing else that i desperately want to finish and when I'm done with that i will look further into this . But like i've said if you understand the 2nd half let me know.  Unless I e-mail this person and ask them to explain further.  Let me know what u thinki o.k.  Thanks
