This was a great read! I found myself staying up till 2am to finish it and when I did, I was bummed there were no pages left to turn!

This book takes us back to where it all started. If you like Alex Cross - you will love the pieces this book fills in.
This is Patterson at his best.

I like the way James Patterson writes. He gets right to the point and doesn't go on for pages, developing details. This book is an absolute spell-binder. Alex Cross is one of our favorite characters, so that helps. The chapters are short, only a few pages long, and I could hardly put it down! Fast paced, direct and action packed. Loved it!!
suspenseful...another good Alex Cross book. Nice for a rainy day.
This was the first book I read in the "cross" series and I literally could NOT put it down. When I wasn't reading, I was thinking about it. It's one of those books that just gets into your head. Because of this book, I ended up reading the rest of the "cross" books, and this one is definitely the best!
Another great Patterson book!
This is number 12. Just as good as all the others! I strongly recommend you read them in order.
You can read the book summary elsewhere. My view is with a book where each chapter was about 2 pages long it would have moved quickly. I kept getting confused because of flashbacks. A child that Cross had that wasn't explained how he came to be from a dead mother who was not far enough along in her pregnancy to show yet.
I got bored really fast and never finished the book.

A very quick read though disappointing story with the solution of Alex' wife's murder 10 years earlier. A good mix of crime fighting, psychology, home life, and Alex' relationship with his girlfriend.
Another excellent addition to the Alex Cross series. Fast paced, filled with suspense, grabs you from the first page.
good... story of wife's death
Having been a long-time fan of the Alex Cross series, I was eager to open up my copy of CROSS. A lot of what I love about the series and Patterson's writing were inside the pages of this book: short chapters, straight-to-the-point dialogue, a fast-moving plot. The only problem is that the plot, in general, left me wanting to yell at someone.
I can overlook the fact that Alex Cross's wife apparently didn't die the way he had originally stated. I can even overlook the fact that after fourteen years and several other relationships (one that even ended in producing a son), Alex now seems obsessed with "getting over" his long-dead wife.
What I couldn't overlook was the fact that with this book, besides being a detailed description of his wife's murder and Alex's new committment to finding her killer, there's not a whole lot else there. The Alex in this book is moody, melancholy, and totally anti-Alex Cross to the point that I wasn't even sure, halfway through the book, that I was reading about the same character.
He's not the only one, though. His children, his friends, and even dear old Nana Mama are all acting out of character--and not in good ways.
Sure, the "mystery and suspense" part of the story is a pretty good one. Patteron's writing style is always a welcome change to me.
CROSS, though, is one Alex Cross story I could have done without.

Great book! Fast moving! I now want to read all of the Alex Cross mysteries!
This book is definitely not one of Patterson's best. The plot is weak and the characters are over developed. There were no unexpected twists and turns which was very disappointing.
Patterson may not be a fancy writer, but he's great when it comes to telling a story. This one is interesting and exciting without getting ridiculous and unbelievable when it comes to side-stories involving someone's personal life.
Granted, Alex does have some drama with Nana though, because she hates that he puts himself in danger due to his job. Truthfully, her character has irritated me more often than not because of this. I highly doubt she would tell another person in the same job to not come to her rescue if he had a family at home. (Sadly, if her character ever does leave the series, I don't think I'd miss her.)
In this one we find out about the man believed to be responsible for killing Cross's late wife. It's definitely a page-turner and a fast read because it's hard to put down (plus it has really short chapters and average-sized print.)

For the sake of his family, Alex Cross has left the FBI and become full-time psychologist. But when his former partner has him to help track a serial rapist, Alex is shocked when the case triggers a connectoin to his wife's murder.
I thought this was one of the better stories in the Alex Cross series. Lots of suspense. My rating: 4 Stars.

Good Read
James Patterson is always suspenseful and readable. This is Mr. Patterson's Alex Cross series of books and one I particularly enjoy. I try to wait for the paperback but have not yet been able to do it. A page turner, and quick read if you like suspense/mystery.
I love these books with Alex Cross. I found this one very intriguing and kept me thinking until the last page. It takes you through all the emotions and back again.
One of the best Alex Cross books.
If you have started reading Patterson's 'Cross' books, this is one of his latest in a series of great stories. Alex Cross and his partner John Sampson are back at it again, targeting the killer that murdered Cross' wife. In this story, slightly different than past 'Cross' storylines, there is a bit of psychological twisting that goes on. It's another great book by Patterson.
Not one of my favorites by him. It was good, just not as good as others.
Excellent as always. A book that explains alot of the back-ground of Alex Cross.
Excellence read, could not put the book down. The author went back and tied his wife's murder into the series well, I thought.
Excellent as always.
Another great Alex Cross read. This time you will find out how his wife
was killed. It is a little confusing if you haven't read the others but a good tale none the less.

Another great book by James Patterson, with Alex Cross and John Sampson, very fast reading, enjoyed it very ,much...
One of Patterson's best. Very hard to put down.
Pattersons' book are great.. It seems that I cannot get enough of them to read.Especially when you had read it already..So I'm posting another Cross.
Good book of this writer. Lots of action. I guess it will be a molvie some time when Morgan Freeman is ready?
This book was very easy to read and one that I could not put down.
This is one of the best "Cross" books. If you have not read any, this is the one to read!!!
Excellent!!!!!
