Considering how many wishes there are for cross stitching supplies, I'm guessing that there are a lot of cross stitchers in this section of the forum. So I wanted to pose this question to those stitchers. Once all my Christmas cross stitching gifts are done, I need to find more reasons to cross stitch (besides a few geeky long term projects I have going on for my own amusement). I remember hearing on-line (perhaps here or on another forum) about charities that can take your cross stitching projects and put them on quilts or other such things that go to people in need or other causes. Does anyone here participate in such charities? Got any in particular you could recommend to me? |

I know I've seen a cross stiching bookmark program that sends stitched bookmarks to hospitals. Let me see if I can dig up the info on that... Regarding the others, I'm not sure... |

If you find out any ideas on the projects to donate, let me know. I'd be interested. I do crosstitch for passing time, since I'm a disabled stay at home mom. |

Monica, I reached out to a LiveJournal cross stitch community that I'm part of with this same question and they gave me several responses. This website is probably the charity I'll start helping with; it looks like a good group and the member who posted about said they'd done several quilt squares for the charity in the past: http://lovequilts2macs.homestead.com/LQHomepage.html A few others recommended donating cross stitched bookmarks to St Jude's Hospital, and Create-A-Card for Cancer Research. |
