Is there any way to tell if a book is a Crossings edition or not?  I have received two books that appeared to be the books from my collection but turned out to be Crossings editions which are smaller than what I thought I was getting. The ISBN may be the same but I'm not sure. I ordered the books based on the sizes given under the "edit book data" section. I'm not sure how to avoid this in the future. Is the only way to handle this through the requestor conditions?  I've only experienced this with two books from the same series. I don't really feel like this was a problem created by the sender. The dimensions were wrong in the data. Thanks for any help you might be able to offer.

The size is not something PBS requires to match, so if the same ISBN is used for the Crossings editions and the general release, the only way to avoid them is to add a requester condition. Looking at the Edit Data size can tell you what one of the sizes available for that ISBN is, but it can't tell you if its the only size.

Are Crossings editions the same as Book Club editions?  Book Club editions I know are generally smaller than regular hardcovers and don't have the list price on the jacket's inside flap but usually have the same ISBN.

I second Melanie's advice - a RC is the way to go, either a general RC if you never want Crossings editions, or only turning it on for specific books.  Though some people, like me, might not know what Crossings editions are, so maybe you'd want to give the dimensions you're looking for rather than saying 'no Crossings editions'?  Just a suggestion.

Thank you for the feedback. I wish I had thought to do a RC on these particular books. They will still read fine but I may try to get the right editions later. Right now I am on sabbatical from PBS. My last book is on the way and then I have to read a while before posting again. My TBR list is out of control.

A Crossing edition is a Christian bookclub edition of a book, usually slightly smaller than a regular hardback but a little bigger than a paperback edition of a book.

In the forums this week, I have learned what a Playaway and a Crossings edition is. Thanks PBSers!
