Nice and scary, with an interesting plot using Native American myths.
Easy and entertaining read, keeps up a pretty good pace though out the whole book.

This book is a little bit of Cherokee history along with a great horror story...

Owl's stoies: Breed, Crota, Evil Whispers, Darker Than Night are recommended reading for horror science fi and mystery fans. In Crota, we have a Native American Legend interwoven with modern man's much harried civilization. I liked this one best of all for the characters... you don't fall for one ... you bounce back and forth liking one then another including the Crota....... This would make an excellent film.

Best book I have read in a long time. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this debut novel, winner of the Bram Stoker award, was every bit as good as it was suppose to be. This book did not fall into any of the pitfalls that a lot of recent novels seem to fall into. It was exciting from page 1 on. There were no lengthy 100 plus page explanations or 3 chapter long flashbacks to deal with. Mr. Goingback did not bore readers with useless details and extensive training in Indian lore. Oh, there were details and yes Indian lore was a big part of the story but it was done seemlessly. It took nothing away from the book. I have his other books and I only hope that they are as good as this one. Thumbs up for this Author!
