Cunard Queens on the Mersey marks the 25 year period in the company's history since the first call to the river by a Cunard Queen. In July1990, more than a million spectators thronged the banks of the river to greet Queen Elizabeth 2 during her mai--den call at Liverpool. Since that first call, QE2 returned a further eight times. The current flagship of the Fleet, Queen Mary 2, remains the largest ship ever to sail up the river. Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth each attract tens of thousands of spectators to Liverpool's World Heritage Site waterfront during their calls.
