Wondering how it is that I'm 46 out of 102 people wanting a book (according to the little numbers under the grey thingie on my wish list) if there are only 98 people wanting the same book (according to the "members wishing" on the book description?

Doesn't really make any difference.  I'm just a curious person.

there could be 4 copies on wishlist holds right now.  That could be a possible explanation.   Best I can come up with anyway.

The system counts differently in different places. Sometimes it includes people who are on vacation hold (maybe only if they have auto-request on? but what if they have no credits?) Anyway, the best thing to do is treat wish list counts and your place in line as approximations. If you're anywhere in the top 3, you might get the next copy offered.
