Thank you to all that have helped these children out. Unfortunately there will not be any pictures posted. I have been asked to take my post down and am compling. This wonderful community has helped us out so much! Happy Holidays everyone!

My neighbors house burnt down due to sandy knocking down a power line ontop of their home. They have 5 small children ages 11, 8, 6, 5 and 3. I am looking for books for them as they lost everything in the fire and have gone through all the books i have at my home. If anyone has any age appropriate books for these children and would like to send them to me please message me for my address. The 11 year old is a girl and she is extremely mature. She reads young adult novels that people my age shouldnt even read lol. The 8, 5 and 3 year olds are boys. The 6 year old is a girl and she loves any girly books. Thank you to those who help! I lost alot of books in the hurricane due to flooding but I would much rather help the children as they will be staying at my home until their parents can find a new home.

I don't have any kids books, so I gifted you two credits You can let a couple of the kids pick out books that they want.  Hopefully you can find some in the bazaar that are offerring deals.  If you see something on my shelf that looks interesting, PM me.  Sorry for all your losses, I wish I could do more.

Thank you very much for your kindness. I taught these kids to read, and they hate television so losing their book collections was hard on them. They arent even worried about their house. Im going to go to goodwill today and pick up a few 3 for $1 very young kids books to hold over the younger ones. I cant afford much but i want this kids to not have to suffer.

Thank you again!

How sad, I feel so sorry for that family.  I have 2 girls so I will look through their books to see if I have any for the girls, we have so many books that just this week I was saying to them we need to donate some of them.  Our library in the town I work in sells books for .25 so I will stop and see if I can find any for the boys and the older girl.  I will let you know.  Meredith

Still looking for some books for the older girl. She likes books along the lines of vampire academy, the fallen series by kate something, or just any romantic sad teen/young adult books(these are her words, not mine). Ive gotten quite a few books for the younger kids and i am very greatful to you all for your generosity! I will post a picture with the kids and all their new books once they are received.

Please take a look at my bookshelf and let me know if there is anything you think would be appropriate.

When I was her age, I read a lot of Agatha Christie books, but I was/am a nerd!

Marni, I had her look at your shelf. She is really only into the newer young adult books. But thank you for offering!

I am eagerly awaiting lots of books in the mail. I hope these put a smile on the kids faces. I really dont like seeing kids sad

I sent a box of 24 books out yesterday; so should arrive fairly soon.   There are 5 or 6 books for the older girl, and lots for the younger ones.

I hope they arrive soon, and are enjoyed.

This is proof that kindness still exists.

Thank you meredith. I just recieved 3 big boxes of books today. I walked out on my front porch to check the mail and my jaw dropped. I'm taking pictures of everything so everyone can see the kindness of this site. I will post them once everything has been received. To the people who have helped, thank you very very much! I am still in disbelief about how much help i have gotten.

Ive given the kids a few of the books to hold them over. but I'm not showing them all the books until they have all been recieved

Once again thank you everyone for your amazing show of kindness!
