Do you have word count goals you try to meet in any given time frame? I am currently trying to do between 1500 and 2000 words a day but I get sidetracked so easily...

My minimum a day is 4 pages. On days when the muse is not there it is hard, because I get distracted so easily. But I try to never go under my minimun unless the day is either really bad or really busy.

I have been working with this group.

It is a year long writing challenge.  We also have monthly contests.  It's great motivation to have others cheering you on.

My goal is three and 1/2 pages, so that I am getting 20 plus pages a week. I take a Sabbath so that means I'm only writing six days.

Most of the time I feel like I am churning out crap, but I tell myself its a rough draft that's what it's supposed to be.

I will only have 80 pages at the end of the month at this pace but I figure when I rewrite I will add alot more subplot and flesh to the story.

I try to write 3 pages a day, but sometimes I type more, and sometimes I type less.  It depends on how busy I am that day.

I generally have a deadline for completions of the work and the daily goal is based on that.  But I focus in whatever is written being on target and publishable rather than volume.

I have 2 jobs, so I can't do an output based goal.  My goal is to write for an hour each day, and sometiimes (like this week) I have trouble managing that and have to try and make up for it on my day off.

(Edited for grammar.)

I do a time limit instead of page or word count too.  Typically 1 hour a day, 5 days a week.  (More if I have a day(s) off of work.)  And I don't limit that to just writing, but also include brainstorming and research time as well.  Of course, when the muse strikes I'm often at it for more than one hour, but that's the minimum I set for myself.

When I'm writing a first draft, my goal is usually around 2000 words a day. Sometimes I switch to a time-based goal, if I feel like I'm dragging; the problem there is that I'm much too likely to sneak online during my writing time :P When I'm planning, I usually either have a time-based goal or set myself a task that I want to accomplish by the end of the day (for example, fill out character sheets for main characters, or add ten scenes to my outline). When I'm editing, it varies - either a time-based goal, or a goal of fixing a certain number of chapters, or fixing a certain number of problems, or working until my eyes start glazing over (that happens fast when I'm editing...).

I'm a student and last semester when I was in a writing class where I had pretty much free reign to do what I wanted my goal was 10 pages a week (though some weeks I got sidelined because of other writing I was doing).  This summer I finished my first draft (I set a much wider goal that time), so now I'm editing, so everything has gotten changed around and mixed up.  My main goal right now is to try to have everything completely edited by Christmas.
