Martha Grimes writes mystery well. I read through easily, pulled by the plot and with a sense of accomplishment at the outcome. A good balance of dialogue and the best of descriptions and characterizations made this a very good book to have spent time with. I have sent it on to a daughter who is also a fan of Grimes and we agree that this was a fine story. I can highly recommend Dakota to anyone who loves good writing and a mystery with believable, loveable, hateable characters!
