Hi, I mailed a book that looked brand new; I got it through the system and it looked like it had been read only like twice. The receiver marked it damaged with the comment below: um there was stamp markings on the inside and on the first page of the first chapter. i appreciate you sending it but i don't care for the stamp marks. I went back to the transaction detail and she had no RCs listed at all. I honestly can't remember there being anything in the book (I check all the books to see if they meet the rules before I post them so when I mail I just grab them and give the cover a quick once over) There's probably one of those BookCrossing stamps inside but I double-checked the posting rules and these are allowed. Is she allowed to deny me a credit becuase of this if she didn't specify in her RCs that she didn't want stamped books? |

Stamped books are allowed as long as the stamps are not blocking text pages. from help:
ETA They can mark it as RWAP. (Even though they are wrong.) You do not have to refund the credit. Credit refunds are decided by the sender. Last Edited on: 10/17/09 3:38 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

It the stamp was on the first page of the the first chapter, then that would be on a text page, rather than on the cover or page edges. In that case, I'd refund the credit. |

You could ask for a photo of the damage so you could see what she is talking about. Libraries stamp books all over the place too. Cheers, Catt |

Some UBS stamp inside the front cover, don't think I've seen many stamps on text pages tho. BTW, UBS stamps are postable also...exception being text pages. |

The library and UBS stamps can be ON text pages, they just can't OBSCURE the text. |

She can't deny you a credit. You have the credit. It is your decision to refund. Don't refund if you feel you're in the right. I'd tell her to add an RC to her requests. What she doesn't appreciate and what goes against the rules are often 2 different things. Last Edited on: 10/18/09 1:32 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

My UBS, when they stamp the text page, always does it near the top of the page. Pat |
