Any one else on her get the gift of getting the swine flu?  Well I did plus i got influenza B too.  So far I'm impressed.  I feel like I got hit by a bus in flordia durring the middle of summer.  It is not fun, I'm not sure if i feel so awful because i got both strains at once or if its just from the one.  I hope if you havn't experienced it yet that you get luck and dont get it this flu season.

How long were you sick for if you did get it?

Honestly we had planned to get both but after hearing here in Pa Drs want you to sign a release form absolving the Dr of any problems, I got a lot scared and decided not to get the H1N1 one.

I have been hearing horrible storys about the really bad reaction some are having to it.  Now on the news is a report of how US didn't test the vaccine, but Austrailia did so yikes.  Still not getting it.  I know it's worst case, but would rather not take the chance of being paralized for life.

My kids had the vaccine (live nasal) and were fine. I work in a hospital and have gone to many many meetings on this virus. Please don't believe every thing you hear and read.  This vaccine was manufactured just like any other flu vaccine, same process different virus.  If you get the seasonal flu vaccine, this will be in the mix next year.  The fact is, there were trials done in the US. They were conducted under the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease. It was approved by the FDA based on these trials.

Terry...that's interesting that the doctors are now asking for release forms.  The Department of Health and Human Services has given the vaccine manufacturers (pharmaceutical companies including Novartis, GSK, others) legal immunity from any damages from the vaccines (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31971355/ns/health-swine_flu/).  In Ireland, insurance companies have advised general practitioners not to give the vaccine "until all indemnity issues were resolved". http://www.theflucase.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1532%3Aqdoctors-please-dont-give-the-flu-jabq-warns-insurance-company&catid=41%3Ahighlighted-news&Itemid=105&lang=en.  The swine flu vaccine has not been tested long at all ( it's new, but still.....patient safety above all should be the requirement) and there are many versions with squalene, mercury, formaldehyde.  I don't think so.....

Wow rosina i ws unaware that they were giving legal immunity from damages.  Thats not great news for the patients who get the vaccine.  Whats scary is here they sent most of the vials that the state got out to all the schools starting with the elementary schools and working there way up.  So if there are problems who know what were doing to our kids.  My niece couldn't have it or the flu ones due to allergies so that takes  big load off my chest.  Its crazy to think that they were that worried about the vaccine that there not going to think about the future health problems it could cause.

I'm just glad I got the disease and not the shot, lol.  Now I'll have my own immunities.  And it was only sick for like 1 week.  I felt like royal shit for the first three days, but after that I started to feel a lot better.  So if you get it its not that bad.

I'm amused by the paranoia and overreaction from swine flu. Don't you all feel a bit silly in hindsight? Or is this still going on?
