Sharon McCone's detective agency is flying high, her personal life though is in limbo. So to stir things up in this otherwise calm seting, a valued employee is charged with fraud. While trying to extricate her colleague from false accusations it turns out that the real plot is to ruin and blacken Sharon's hard-earned reputation.

A nice solid entry into the McCone series - Sharon revisits an old case with a new twist. For readers of the series, there is a nice advancement of Hy and Sharon's relationship.

I have read the entire Sharon McCone series. Marcia Muller is an excellent mystery writer. I would suggest you start with the first book and read as they were written. It is an excellent series.
I love this author. You really feel like you know Sharon McCone, her main character.
