Wow! A book with a gooood storyline/plot, well-developed & motivated characters, lots of steamy sex scenes, some intrigue & suspense, & the requisite happy ending. What more can you ask for? This is not the best book I have ever read, but I did enjoy it immensely. Hope you do too.

I was actually a little disappointed in this book. The first few chapters were great and I expected to really like it. But the Author spent so much time describing the thoughts and feelings of the secondary characters (bad guys) that it took away from the main characters. You know exactly what the villain is planning early on in the book so it comes as no surprise. I didn't feel I needed to read about it every other chapter. I would've enjoyed more about the hero and heroine, how they fall in love and thwart the villain, not all about how the villain plans to seek revenge and kill them. I found myself skimming most of those chapters so I could get to the good stuff.

I really wanted like the book but I have 2 problems/complaint with this book:

1. All H/H seems to do is have sex and not really anything else is going on between these two. Even when heroin is telling the hero about her life, they are having sex while she is talking. And the hero never really open up to the heroin so I found it hard to believe that the heroin fell in love with somebody who she really knew nothing about. I really felt that there was really no real love but only lust between them.
2. The ending came out of no where. I felt like there were many loose ends that were left behind without letting the readers know what happened. I wish the author would have at least given us a epilogue to see what happened.

Overall, the book could have been better if the author put more storyline and less sex to it.

First time I've read this author and I didn't care for the book. Yes, the love scenes were steamy; but, really, how often do we have to hear about how big he is (all over), how much he's wanted her for years, etc. The female character was too needy and all suffering. I like a little backbone for my female characters. So much could have been done with the plot about the diamonds and the bad guy out to get the main characters. But it was as if the author just got tired of writing. The confrontation happened and that was the end of the book. The man never told the woman he loved her. There was no dramatic realization of happily ever after. All in all, I was disappointed in it.

Good read, enjoyable story, interesting characters. The parallel story lines were handled well. Although I liked the touch of sending the diamond money to a charity he has been supporting for sometime [although I DO wonder how you sell something like that, even with the connections Jack probably has] but I would like the climactic scene to have gone a bit farther. Caroline, who freaked when she first found out he was armed, is exposed to up-close-and-personal violence and the revelation of our hero's true identity all within a few pages. I'd like to have gone beyond the clinch and the 'ohmygod we're alive' scene ending.

If you enjoy this one, try her Midnight series.

Lisa Marie Rice knows her alpha male and his sexual appetites. The sex scenes were scalding hot and sweetly romantic. Jack's obsession and devotion to Caroline is believable and attractive. Caroline, polite and generous, shows her strength in morale character rather than the usual snappy heroine. Ms. Rice does have a habit of repeating herself, lots of internal dialog slowing down the rhythm of the character interaction, a good editor could make this into a 5 star book.

Good lord could this book have more romance story cliches or what? There's the over the top ex-special forces hero who has pined after the heroine for twelve years, there's the very weak and easily scared heroine who is all alone in the world and in need of rescuing, the extremely evil villain who will go to any length to hurt both the hero and heroine, the cheesy statements that no one in real life would say. Let's not forget the nonstop sex..The sex scenes were terrible. I honestly didn't see what the heroine got out of it. He really wasn't all that skilled. He's called the dangerous lover in the title of the book, but it's more accurate to call him the bad lover.

The ending of this book is one of the worst I've read. It's not that I don't care for the ending. It's the way the ending happens. It just ends. You have no idea if they even get an HEA. It's that abrupt. The story is moving along and boom..the end. It's very bizarre. It's so bizarre the author issued an epilogue on her website to appease those who read the book.

The sad thing is the story had a lot of potential. The opening chapter was great. The premise was good. I couldn't wait to see what happened, but as soon as the hero returned, the story went downhill fast.
The author becomes so repetitive in how much the hero wants the heroine. Yes, I get it. He wants her really bad. You don't need to write three chapters just about his longing. The heroine's character is very flat, passive and boring. I really couldn't get a sense of her at all. The hero seems to have incredible powers. He's huge. I'll leave it at that, but he's huge everywhere. He can smell as well as a trained canine dog. I'm not making this up. It says so in the book. He also has night vision beyond that of a normal human. He's incredibly strong and fast. He doesn't need much sleep. He can go days without eating. After a while, I started wondering..nay hoping..perhaps he was a vampire because I like paranormal stories. Alas he was a mere mortal.
Much of the story is internal monologue. The entire story happens over three to four days so that gives you an idea of just how much internal monologue and recollection of past events there is in the book. There isn't a lot of conversation or character building. This is the author's first book so hopefully she has improved since this one.

Don't be fooled by the pretty cover. This is not a good book. I'm sorry I read this story.

I thought Dangerous Lover was good. It was definitely steamy but I think it ended to quickly. I would read this author again.

Really sexy, but I'd agree with the other reviewers, abrupt ending, and not enough of a time frame for love to really develop. It can happen and it seems to. Will read the epilogue on the website.

While I liked the overall story, the ending I felt left you hanging. It just ended so you have to assume they have a happy ending. There really was not closure IMO.

While I agree with some of the other reviewers that there were a lot of steamy love scenes in this book, I have to ask, "What did you expect??" This is a book called 'Dangerous Lover"! I read this one rather quickly... it's a bit of fluffiness with some steamy moments. Good for a break from the hum-drum, but certainly not for anyone who is looking for the meaning of life!
I did find the villain to be a bit unrealistic, and the ending does just kind of jump out of nowhere... but I really liked the hero, and I liked that a lot of the story is told from his point of view. Overall a pretty good read- I'd try another one by this author.

I liked the hero a lot and the sex scenes were everything we have to come to love LMR for so I don't need to stress her excellence in that arena. I wish she had made the heroine a wee bit less pathetic but LMR seems to like pathetic heroines so that shouldn't surprise anyone.

I read this book cover to cover in one day. The story line was great and the emotions were real between the main characters. I did skip some of the chapters focused on the villain because it did get to be repetitive and nonessential after awhile. Regardless, this was a very good book and I highly recommend it.
