How do you feel about Danielle Steel's books?  When I was younger, I got hooked on them and read everything she wrote.  I couldn't wait until her next book came out... For the last few years, though, I'm just disappointed with her books.  Now matter how different the story is, it just seems like the same old thing.

I have quite a few of her newer books on my TBR pile, but I just can't motivate myself to pick them up and start reading.   Has anyone read some of her most recent books?  How did you like them?

I got an Amazon email saying that she has another new books coming out.  How in the world does this woman keep cranking out the books!

I saw her on the Today show this morning and she's got a new one out called Rogue.  She is amazing and says that sometimes she works on 3 books at once.  I read one or two things by her years ago but I think I am going to look her up again.

She is actually what got me started on romance novels...at the ripe old age of 13 :) My grandmother was a fan. I read a short series she had maybe 3 or 4 books and have never read anything since. I was HOOKED on the few I read however. I read all my grandmother had then checked the rest out at the library...I wonder what that librarian thought about my choices :)

I have read her books in the past, but I just don't care for her.

I agree with Jennifer, her stories have changed..too simple and not as in depth as she used to write.  Almost as if she is trying to meet deadlines and does not have time to develop the storylines.  I don't enjoy the newer ones as much because it's like reading a paperback romance.

I'll read her, but her books bother me because they never say what the book is about on the cover.   I want to know what I'm getting into before I start reading.

I don't care for her...too Lifetime Movie for me. I don't like reading family romances, which is what her books seem to be.

I've read a few of them, some were really good and then alot of them started blending together. Like someone on here once said.......you can just switch out the characters names and it's basicly the same storyline each time. I did enjoy "The Ranch" mostly because i liked the setting of it (a dude ranch).

I also agree with Beth, i don't like it when you can't find a blurb or any kind of description about what the storyline is.

I used to read hers but got tired of reading half a book that covered a few months then the last half coverd 3 generations...a few stand out that I liked or just remember from all the drama: Thurston House, Family Album, Jewels(this is one that dragged and wasn't a fave), Kaleidoscope(disturbing) and I t hought she'd redeemed herself with The Ranch til one woman didnt have the HEA I wanted for her and it still ticks me off who she had that woman end up with that I cant' forgive her...ok that's extreme but yuck yuck yuck...pathetic. A coworker likes 'the klone and I' and says she's read it several times but I've never read that one. I don't seek out her new books but if one caught my eye I'd probably succumb and try it..maybe...

This will probably sound goofy, but they are so "my mom's romance novel" to me:P  And I'm not a pup; I'm 47.  But it seemed like when my mom was alive (she passed away a couple of years ago) every other time I went over to see her, she was watching some made for TV Danielle Steel book/movie on Lifetime or whatever.  They always seemed so corny to me.  Maybe it was just the famous TV actors that always seemed to be in them, but bleh.  My mom would say something to the effect that this was a great movie & had I seen it or read the book, and I'd do my best to show polite interest, but frankly, a romance novel I knew my mom was all into never held much appeal for me:P  Just the action/adventure stuff I liked would scare the crap out of her.  She liked Mel Gibson, but she couldn't sit through Braveheart.  It was like watching a graphic horror flick to her:P
